If you had to choose between having hair or having sex which would you choose? These are the options for those who choose to take Propecia in the future. However, those that took Propecia in the past were not given a choice since the side effect of Erectile Dysfunction was not known until recently.

Men’s Journal published an article titled The (Not So Hard) Truth About Hair Loss Drugs which follows one man’s road to diagnosis at age 35. Hormone therapy for the remainder of his life is the prognosis.

Oddly enough the article points out that Finasteride, the active ingredient in Propecia blocks the conversion of testosterone to the more potent dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which not only thins hair but grows penis’.

Finasteride’s original use was to shrink enlarged prostates in the form of a drug called Proscar, but doctors also noted it grew hair.
